In the Japanese language, there is a term they use to express a sense of gratitude combined with a sincere desire to give back. It is the word "on". It is a feeling of appreciation so strong that it stimulates a sense of wanting to pay it forward and share that feeling with the rest of the world.
The Word Grateful comes for the Latin term Gratus meaning pleasing or agreeable. In these times, it means more than just this, it has a meaning of feeling deeply appreciative of any kindness. It is to be truly thankful so that it produces emotions of happiness and contentment.
Sometimes we forget to take the time to truly realise the amazing things that define our lives. This may be because often we concentrate on what we don't have rather than all the abundance we do enjoy. Consequently, our gratitude exists in perpetual conflict with our desire for more, whether we crave time, convenience, wealth, or enlightenment.
Science tells us that an "attitude of gratitude" is a good health choice. A grateful heart is a happy heart. I'm sure you have heard it before, but this is probably the most powerful way to overcome any pain you could be feeling right now. Simply being grateful for the little things, will allow you to pinpoint the reasons you have to be happy and concentrate on growing that happiness into a habit. If you are low, then you can start small. "I am grateful I could get out of bed today" "I am grateful that I am able to feel love" "I am grateful for the food I have to eat as soon as I wake" I am grateful for a beautiful sunny/windy/rainy day".
Being grateful allows you to live in the moment. Too often we are in our own minds and tormenting ourselves over the past, or swimming in the future. We forget that our life is happening right now. Our life is what is happening around us. It is the kids sitting on the floor and playing, it is the cup of tea sitting beside you, it is the birds singing outside and the dog panting beside you. It is being with those you love and doing the things you want to do. It is also doing the things you don't want to do, that you do for a good reason that is important to you. Look at the smile on your child's face. Did you not create that perfect being? Did you not clap the first time he smiled? Did you not rejoice in her happiness daily? Do you still love his smile, or do you take it for granted? Life is an experience so don't waste precious moments taking it for granted.
It's time to start to appreciate what you already have. Take the time to look around and notice the little things and why or even how they are around you will make you appreciate how loved you are. Look at the vase (or similar object) on the shelf. Who gave that to you? Was it someone who loved you, or was it a present from yourself? Do you even remember how you got it?
Gratitude is an attitude, a choice, and a habit. When we consciously practice being grateful for the people and situations around us, then by the simple law of "where intention goes, energy flows" we begin to attract better relationships and results. The habit of gratitude will be strengthened as you consciously make the choice to stop complaining and be grateful each day.
Gratitude as an emotion has a particular energy. Emotions run as electrical currents, but if you add consciousness into the mix, and align your thoughts to consciously control the emotion of gratitude and when and how you feel it, you are adding magnetism to the equation. You end up with an electromagnetic current that aligns with what you want. Doctor Masaru Emoto believed that water was a "blueprint for our reality" and that emotional vibrational energies could change the physical structure of water. Emoto's water crystal experiment consisted of exposing water in glasses to different words, pictures, or music. Crystals emerge for only twenty to thirty seconds, as the temperature rises and the ice starts to melt, giving us a rare glimpse into the magical world of crystals and water energy with microscopic photography. Emoto found that water exposed to positive words and thoughts would result in beautiful crystals being formed when that water was frozen, and that negative words would yield ugly frozen crystal formations.
Take a look at the below Intentional Emotions and their crystal formation and you will realise how strong your Intentional thoughts and emotions can be.

Your Intentional thoughts and emotions cause your energy field to transmit vibrations and magnetizes other similar vibrations into your energy field. You are constantly broadcasting your own energy and attracting other energy.
There is new research in the Unified Field Theory arena (think instead of Einstein's theory of relativity) that says, and allegedly proves, that the unifying force is Consciousness. "Consciousness, as a highly intelligent and powerful force, is the common influencer of energy in the spiritual dimension and in astrological alignments. Consciousness contains energetic information (thoughts and emotions among them) existing as multiple potentials for outcomes as far as how they may impact matter and other energies. These multiple potentials come into existence through the creation of coherence driven by consciousness" - The Mind Unleashed
If you see the above water crystal results and you realise that our bodies are over 70% water, you can easily see how we can attune ourselves to the vibration we desire to be. All we need to do is Consciously decide to control our thoughts. Simply being consciously aware of your consciousness is an amazing advancement! And that is only part of the story, but a good starting point!
